The Management Team
Winston Quek
Winston is a seasoned banking and capital markets professional with more than 30 years of experience and a proven track record in management in global financial markets and corporate banking covering the Asia Pacific region. He has a strong network of regional clients and a broad knowledge of how to help non-Asian clients get into the region and vice versa. Winston is experienced in direct oversight of the implementation, rebuilding and enhancement of policies in risk, compliance, operations for capital markets and corporate lending, as well as overall regional strategy and business development.
CK Ong
As the Chief Operating Officer of SBI Digital Markets, CK Ong is responsible for strategy execution, and he also leads business development for tokenised Real-World Assets. He oversees operations at SBIDM and has built an institutional-grade risk management framework. CK is a highly experienced professional in global and regional banks – with close to 20 years’ experience in strategy, operations and risk management across financial markets, transaction banking and digital assets.
Prior to joining SBI Digital Markets, CK was in Singapore-headquartered United Overseas Bank’s Strategic Blockchain and Digital Assets unit which drives blockchain strategy and applications for the bank. Before that, CK held senior positions in UOB, and Standard Chartered Bank for 10 years in Singapore, Korea and China where he specialised in setting up new businesses for the bank.

William Mak
William was the President and APAC CEO of Northern Trust before he retired in late 2021. His career began at the Monetary Authority of Singapore where he would spend 17 years in reserve and portfolio management. He later assumed regional leadership C suite positions at major US and European banks growing asset servicing and asset management businesses serving institutional clients, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pensions, insurance and investment management firms. Today William is also serving the investment committees of various charity organisations.
Jai Yung Byun
Byun has been advising on business development and regulatory strategies for SBI Digital Markets in South Korea since 2023. His expertise has been instrumental in navigating the intricate landscape of the Korean market, fostering relationships with financial institutions across both public and private sectors. His illustrious career began at the Bank of Korea, where he held various leadership positions, including Head of the International Finance Policy Planning Team, Director General Foreign Exchange Analysis and Investigation, and Chief Representative at the Bank of Korea’s Washington D.C. Representative Office. He played a crucial role in South Korea’s recovery from the foreign exchange crisis in 1997 to 1998 and led negotiations for significant agreements, including the Currency-Swap Agreement with ASEAN, Japan, China, and South Korea. Byun’s contributions also extended to the foundation of the Korea Investment Corporation in 2005.
